Blood Drive - All Day on April 23rd

YSPN will again be participating in the Central Illinois Community Blood Center’s Adopt-A-Day Program on Wednesday, April 23rd from 7AM-6PM.  Members are encouraged to visit the center (located at 1134 S. Seventh Street) on this day to make a donation.

Volunteer Opportunities Fair

Please join us for a Young Springfield Professionals Network Volunteer Opportunities Fair. A large variety of local non-profit organizations will be available to familiarize you with their organization and to show you how you can incorporate volunteerism into your life. There is no charge for entry into the event. All YSPN members who attend will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card.  To add your nonprofit to the list of exhibitors, contact ypspringfield@gmail.com. While the results of the game were favored 50/50, it was a beautiful spring day and a good time had by all.

April Monthly Meetup 4-16-14

After work meet-ups/happy hours, throughout the year every third Wednesday of the month from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM at various locations within the Springfield area.

These monthly events throughout the year are meant to be casual and require no registration ahead of time.

Illinois Women in Leadership is pleased to announce the 2014 ATHENA Leadership Award® in Springfield. This year the Award is presented by IWIL, a local women’s leadership organization with over 150 members. The award will be presented to an exemplary leader who has achieved excellence in their business or profession, served the community in a meaningful way and most importantly, actively assisted women to achieve their full leadership potential. Nominations are now being accepted and may be submitted at www.iwil.biz through May 15, 2014.

Focus on identifying and cultivating your personal leadership style!

Dr. Nicole Pacheco, of Professional Edge, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Pacheco will discuss leadership styles and administer the People Personality Test, which is similar to Myers-Briggs, and focuses on 4 areas of personality that correspond to a person’s leadership style. The results of the test will show which areas the person is strong in, and which areas they need to further develop. This event is sponsored by Alice Campbell Staffing. Renewal invoices have been mailed and are due now!  We have an amazing year of events ahead - don’t let your membership lapse!  Dues are still only $25 and are good through 3/31/15!
