Purpose
History
The Young Springfield Professionals Association (YSPN) was originally a project presented by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce to Leadership Springfield. Each year, Leadership Springfield divides participants into teams and allows each team to select a project for a local non-profit organization.
One Leadership Springfield team selected the challenge of researching the feasibility of a young professionals network for Springfield, Illinois. The purpose of the network is to connect young professional leaders with the Springfield business community and create a support system therein. The Leadership Springfield team researched several other young professionals programs nationwide to develop a structure for this group. Their proposal was accepted by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and the rest is history.
